Keto Cheese Sauce Recipe



Shrimp fried rice recipe is simple to make, consist of a delicious homemade creamy cheese sauce, and only contain 3.6 grams of net carbs each serving. If you are looking for a satisfying yet cheap meal idea, serve it as a delicious keto food meal, or as a great vegetarian set meal when you just need some high comfort food. This is one of my favorite meals to serve at home because it is both delicious and healthy at the same time. This recipe will definitely leave your taste buds begging for more! Let's get cooking!


This dish is actually pretty easy to make. All you really need for this dish are some cooked brown rice, some skim milk, chopped sharp cheddar cheese, chicken broth (or soy chicken broth if you don't like the taste of the broth), some macadamia nuts, and of course, the cheese sauce. You can use any type of cheese that you want in this recipe. I usually love blue cheese for a true Italian taste and am always drawn to the Swiss cheese style when I go out to eat with friends. My friends and family absolutely love this dish, as well as mine!


To begin, combine the chicken broth, macadamia nuts, milk, and cheese in a saucepan and bring to medium heat. Allow the mixture to simmer while stirring to avoid burning. When it starts to boil, remove it from heat and allow it to cool slightly. Stir again and allow the mixture to warm slightly. Once it is all blended well, it is now ready to serve!


For my variation of the traditional macaroni and cheese, I substitute half of the cheese for cauliflower rice. Cauliflower rice is made by steaming washed cauliflower florets until tender enough to be mashed into a rice-like texture. I find it adds a unique flavor to the dish that is not overpowering. The other downside is that it takes a few minutes for the cauliflower to cook so I cut back on the amount I use.


To make the creamy mac and cheese sauce, I used a food processor, along with three cups of skim milk, a quarter cup of sour cream, four tablespoons of macadamia nuts, three tablespoons of cream cheese, and about two tablespoons of water. Blend all of the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Turn off the stove and allow the mixture to cool completely. Once cooled, it can now be transferred into a saucepan and allowed to warm up to room temperature. It will need to be stirred constantly to ensure the consistency is not too thick.


With a little cooking experience under my belt, I think this mac and cheese recipe is very easy to make. The key is to cut back on the cheese and macadamia nuts because they are likely to add a lot of additional calories to the dessert. I also found that the cauliflower rice makes a great base for the keto cheese sauce recipe, as well as adding a nice flavor to the final product. A couple of friends also told me that broccoli florets can be used in the recipe as well.
